During Planning:
My entire experience working with Laura was seamless, easy, and worry-free from the planning stages, all the way to post-wedding production and delivery. Laura brings forth a personal touch that can’t be replicated by other cinematography companies. Even though she and her team had a lot of wedding projects to juggle, they made us feel like we were important and well taken care of, the whole way through. My phone calls and emails were answered immediately and clearly, which eliminated all worries about their reliability for the wedding day.
The Venue:
I am a total DIY bride! My husband and I spent months crafting invitations, favours, place cards, photobooth backdrop, the cake stand and other various décor items to really bring together our rustic charm theme. We also got married in a greenhouse so there were so many details to pick up on. After watching the video, Brightside really highlighted all of those details to integrate our wedding theme into the final videos. A job exceptionally done!
Getting Ready:
The Brightside team was assigned to two locations for the morning of the wedding – half the team for my side and half the team for Mike’s. They showed up on time and prepared. They were pleasant to everyone in my party and didn’t get in anyone’s way while we were getting ready. They also worked really well with the photography team, which was extremely important to me! I’ve heard of some weddings where videographers and photographers have clashed, which creates tension and limits the capabilities of both vendors.
The Final Videos:
It’s been over a year since our wedding and I still watch my wedding videos! I got a highlight and a full feature, which were both well worth the wait and the investment. I can’t count the number of compliments we got on our video and the music that was integrated. The Brightside editing and production team really put a lot of thought and effort into their finished products and they will not settle for anything until you are more than 100% satisfied. I liked the way they chose appropriate songs but also gave us the option to integrate our own choices into the videos. The videos are all colour edited so they’re clear, shot smoothly (no jerky cuts), and a consistent quality all the way through.

It was such a pleasure having Laura and the Brightside Team capture our wedding. Throughout the entire planning process Laura was very professional and prompt in responding to emails. If an incredible video is not enough, well then check the boxes for a great team of videographers, which anyone will tell you is key given they are with you all day and night. They were fun, professional and knew when to be out of the way, but still managed to get perfect shots.
If a picture can speak a 1000 words, then I’m sure our wedding video will say that much more. I don’t think I could put into words what an amazing job the team at Brightside did for our wedding, so luckily anyone can just watch the video and see for themselves (feel free to check it out on their site, “Maryann + Rob”). We may be biased, but the fact is Laura and the team captured perfectly each of our favorite moments of the day and somehow without us providing direction (although she is very open to that) layered in the various family dynamics and personalities of the people there. Everyone we have shown our video is blown away by how well it portrayed the people involved and the day! She even helped us think through some items that we had overlooked when planning other aspects of our wedding. Finally the price….by far the most competitive price we were given compared to 10 others we spoke with. I don’t write many reviews, but the team at Brightside deserves a lot of credit and hopefully if your reading this you’ll hire them and we can consider this a pay it forward present from me to you on our big day 🙂

The finished product is stunning. Brightside films has done an amazing job with thir editing. Laura stayed in constant contact the whole process to discuss details, music, etc. It made us feel great knowing how hard they work, and how much personalization they puts into each of their edits.
We hired Brightside films to capture our wedding. We purchased the 8 hour package which included two videographers on site for 8 hours, a 3 minute pre-wedding edit, an 8 minute (or so) highlight edit, and a full feature.
The two videographers that worked the wedding day were incredibly kind, gentle, not at all obtrusive, and made us actually feel quite comfortable. They blended right in, and managed to capture everything. Our wedding had a ton of live music, and they were able to capture the audio and edit it in perfectly.

I can’t gush enough about Laura and the Brightside Films crew! I can’t believe we didn’t originally plan on having videography. Laura was prompt in returning all my emails & answering every question. She liaised with my vendors to ensure all our bases were covered on the tech end. And she was in contact with my planner throughout my wedding.We have yet to see the feature video, but we also requested a Same Day Edit. The shooters were so easy to be around and captured some great moments. My wish was to include footage up until the cake cutting, and Editor Zim made that possible with his speedy editing! My guests’ reactions as we all watched the video was priceless. Most video services cost you a fortune and the end result is…old-fashioned or cheesy. But these guys are a combination of youth, energy, artistry and talent at its best.
