#ForeverDuncan – Groom Surprises Bride with Wedding Six Hours After Proposing

Well, it's official. 2016 is far from over and we have our Groom of the Year award. Alfred Duncan, who is a Grammy nominated R&B singer, had the surprise of a lifetime planned for his beautiful bride to be Sherrel, a personal trainer. A mere six hours after sweeping her off her feet with a romantic proposal, Duncan took social media by storm with a surprise wedding. Yes, you read that right. Six hours later, as in the same day, as in yesterday. Lucky for us internet folk, the whole thing was captured on social media and was trending within hours....

Wedding Wednesday – Michelle & Ross’ Engagement Video

We know it's Wedding Wednesday but we're going to change it up a bit. Instead of sharing one of our couples' wedding day videos, we are going to share one of their engagement videos. What is an engagement video you ask? It's a 3-5 minute video that highlights you as a couple, your quirks, your hopes and your personalities. It showcases your story, how you met, how you got engaged, what you love about eachother and what you hope for the future. Most couples get engagement photos done so we thought, why not an engagement video? What a great memento...

Special Edition Wedding Wednesday – 52 Weddings in 3.5 Minutes

Today we're going to do Wedding Wednesday a little bit different. Instead of sharing one of the beautiful weddings we shot, we will be sharing 52 weddings the Brightside Films team has shot! Yup, you read that right. 52 of our wedding videos compiled into a wonderful, love-filled 3.5 minute wedding highlight film. What started out as multiple small projects - creating Instagram preview and teaser videos for our numerous couples, turned into one of Brightside Films' greatest video accomplishments. This video not only showcases our talented videographers (both aerial and ground) and our dedicated editing team, but it is also...

100 Years of Engagement Rings

We have quite the Tuesday treat for you today, a little wedding history! Remember that awesome video we posted a few months ago that showcased 100 years worth of wedding dresses by the decade? Well Mode is back at it and this time they are highlighting 100 years of the engagement ring. Each decade is broken down and the prevalent ring style of the time period is highlighted. We LOVE these videos. It's so neat to not only see how trends have evolved, but how they always eventually come back around (except for the 80s - please stay put 80s...

Wedding Wednesday – Jenn & Adam

Have you ever noticed that Wednesday's are usually the gloomiest day of the week? Like, if we probably delved into some historical statistics I bet this would be a proven fact. Not to mention that Wednesdays happen to be Hump Day, also known as the worst day of the work week (well, maybe second to Monday). These two things combined mean Wednesdays generally suck. That's why Wedding Wednesdays are the best. A little sparkle to add to the grey skies and impending work load. And today's Wedding Wednesday featuring the wedding videography of Jenn and Adam will surely add that extra...

Trend Report – Dog Videographers

I couldn't resist the title. This video is so amazing. I mean, obviously the quality isn't the best but what a great way to gather an added perspective on your big day. A heartfelt addition to a stellar videography service! Josh and Addie Burnette strapped a GoPro camera to their pup Ryder for an extra personal video of their wedding day. On their 1 year anniversary, the newlyweds released the footage on Youtube, hilariously commenting "Our dog, Ryder, insisted on filming the wedding video, so we let her do her thing. She took awhile to edit the footage, but we think she did...

A Hundred Years of Wedding Gowns in Three Minutes

Mondays are slow. Don't you find that it always takes extra long to get back into the grind of the work week and you're more susceptible to distraction? I guess that's why they call it manic Mondays. Well, we're here to help you (and by help we mean further distract) with a fun little three minute video break. Following Mode's viral success of showcasing the history women's fashions in a two minute video, next up on the docket was none other than the history of wedding dresses (because let's face it, wedding gowns are in a league of their own in the fashion world)....

Former lovers reunited after 30 years apart

Today we're sharing something a little different. Not wedding related, but about love. In the video below, artist Marina Abramovic performed a live art piece at MoMA entitled "The Artist is Present" in which she sits across from complete strangers in utter silence for one minute each. Part way through the performance, Marina's former lover whom she hadn't seen in 30 years sat down across from her. What is exchanged between them is a testament to the longevity of love. Love is a powerful emotion. Even in it's silence it can be so loud. Take a look below and grab the tissues. All...

Wedding Wednesday – Kimberly & Andre

For today's Wedding Wednesday we're going to bring a classic engagement video out of the archives. Remember Andre's amazing proposal to Kimberly? The engagement video we shot for them in 2013 went viral on Youtube amassing almost 275,000 views! Holy moly is right! Check out our blog post on it here. Well, this beautiful couple got married and we had the honour of capturing their wedding day. Now, I'm sure you can imagine that if Andre put that much thought and effort into his proposal, the wedding must be out of this world. And you would be correct. No detail left...

Wedding Crashing 101

In honour of this week's episode of The Bachelor and Maroon 5's latest music video, we are breaking down the top rules of wedding crashing. Though you'd think that it'd be an easy feat to accomplish, think again. Wedding crashing requires a serious poker face, thinking on the fly and some serious spontaneity. If you don't watch The Bachelor or need a quick recap, last night's episode featured a one on one date with the bachlelor himself, Chris Soules and fertility nurse Whitney. The pair were sent to Saddle Rock Ranch Vineyard by none other than Mr. Jimmy Kimmel! Jimmy had...
